Job Summary:

Freedom Communications & Management is looking for a Lead Small Cell Technician for installation, troubleshooting, and testing on small cell sites. The Lead Technician will report to the Small Cell Construction Manager and oversee the junior Small Cell Technician. This position includes running all equipment and confirming correct cell function, performing preventative maintenance inspections to remote DAS equipment and host-related equipment, and applying safe work practices to all work-related tasks. What You Will Be Doing:

  • Installation of small cell hardware and equipment for both aerial and underground locations.
  • Installation and termination of ½” coaxial cables.
  • Installation of required power and grounding.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and other project documents. These will include, but are not limited to, specifications, reporting, and design requirements.
  • Operation and understanding of RF test equipment such as PIM unit, Sweep meter, and Light meter.
  • Accurately complete project documents as required, then collect and submit to Freedom’s support team. Documents must be submitted on time with required tools.
  • Must work in a team environment that requires regular communication with other Freedom employees, vendors, and clients.
  • Working on a bucket truck at 25′-50′ heights
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

What You Need For This Position:

  • Driver’s License (Required)
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • OSHA 10 (Preferred)
  • Willingness To Travel: 50% (Required)
  • Willing to work outdoors during all seasonal weather changes
  • Comfortable with power tools and basic small-hand tools
  • Comfortable driving the company bucket truck
  • Comfortable with heights (30 – 200 feet)
  • Confident in learning and using test equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Follow all Safety Standards
  • Needs to have a can-do attitude
  • Reading blueprints and specifications is a plus
  • Must have open availability to travel throughout the State of TN and NC. The schedule can change within a moments notice.
  • This is an Outdoor Technician Position and requires a clean background check, passing of drug screening, Background Check and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • First Aid/CPR, RF Awareness, OSHA 10 trained preferred (must provide proof of valid certs)
  • Protective eyewear, ear plugs, arm protectors, tool belt or apron optional, gloves, hand tool and other shop tools, drawings or blueprints, plot blocks, tape measure, calipers, gauges, measuring devices, machinery, heads, dies, computer keyboard, panels, control panels etc.
